Me and Mine (May)

I have loved May!!

We started off the month with a bank holiday, which I unfortunately had to work, and because I work Sunday's too, it meant I was in Sunday AND bank holiday Monday! Boo :( It's not stopped us having a good month though.

On the second weekend of the month, we travelled to Manchester and cheered on my lovely hubby, who was running the Manchester 10k. I did write about it here if you would like to read all about it! I was and am still so incredibly proud of him. :)

So proud!

The weekend after, we had the family round for a bbq as it was my birthday on the 18th of the month. It's also my sister in law's on the 17th, so it was really nice to have everyone round.  Michael bought me a novelty cake - it was none other than fish and chips!

Alfie wanted to blow the candles out on my
fish and chips cake!

Despite being sunny, it was really cold and windy, so we decided not to go ahead with the bbq, and just cooked inside. It was a lovely afternoon and it was so nice getting all the family together.

I love being his wife

I was spoilt on my birthday, which was something I really wasn't expecting. We both had the day off, so we had a lazy morning whilst I opened my presents, then we went to Frankie and Benny's for lunch, where I had the most amazing desert! I'd have gone just for that! After lunch, we headed into town to go and have a drink whilst Alfie slept and I started to read my new book and in the evening, we had tea at Mum and Dad's. All in all, my last birthday in my twenties and my first one as a wife was very lovely indeed :)

Just some of the presents I received
YUM!

The Thursday after my birthday, I went to see Take That for the fourth time as an always, they were amazing!

Last weekend, we went to my sister and brother in law's whilst I tried to take some photo's of the kids. As well as doing Me and Mine, I've also started my own little project of taking a picture every month of Alfie with his cousins, Jack and Holly and at the end of the year, I'm going to collate them all (out-takes included) into a photobook for my Mother in law. Kind of like a brag book to show her friends :) However, this month's picture wasn't great as Alfie wouldn't have his picture taken, so I let him take the picture with my selfie stick. I actually think it's quite funny!

This weekend has been so rushed. We went to Frankie and Benny's for brunch yesterday which was so nice. I've been wanting to go for breakfast for so long, but we just never get round to it. Alfie was so well behaved and ate everything, which is a first! After lunch, we had lots of odd jobs to do as well as the food shop. Today I am back in work and the weather is really miserable outside!

Alfie has been a typical toddler this month. Tantrums one minute and being very clingy and cuddly the next. He's learning at a rapid rate but I often don't feel like I DO enough with him, so I am hoping to do more messy play and learning activities with him

So, here we are in May!
